Klondike

The Klondike wind energy facility, named after the original red brick Klondike Schoolhouse, sits on privately owned farmland currently used for dry land wheat farming. Built across more than 2,000 acres, agricultural activities take place directly adjacent to the turbine foundation pads.

The Facility


Location: Five miles east of Wasco, Oregon in Sherman County
Generating Capacity: 24 MW
Turbines: 16 GE 1.5 MW wind turbines. Tower height is 65 meters and rotor diameter is 70.5 meters.
Transmission: Project output is collected at Klondike Substation where the 34.5 kV collector line is stepped up to 115 kV on a Wasco Electric transmission line, in turn connecting to the federal Bonneville Power Administration's 115 kV DeMoss substation.
