CHIEF EXECUTIVES
Ralph Currey, President & CEO
Pablo Canales, Chief Financial Officer
Pablo Canales has been the CFO for Iberdrola Renewables in the US since 2007.
He previously served in Iberdrola in Brasil as Head of the Control and Administration Department for South America activities from the period 2002-2005. Pablo oversaw the Iberdrola partnership with Banco de Brasil. This partnership has distribution companies in three different states in the Northeast of the country with over eight million clients and 988 MW of generation assets; in Bolivia with distribution companies for La Paz and Oruro with 500,000 clients; and a hydro plant of 124 MW in Chile.
Pablo joined Iberdrola in 1996, and served in different responsibilities in the Control and Administration Corporate Department in Spain until 2001. Prior to joining Iberdrola, he was with Arthur Andersen in the audit business in Spain. He has a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Universidad Comercial de Deusto.
Terry Hudgens, Advisor
Terry Hudgens serves on a contract basis as a special advisor to Iberdrola Renewables, Inc., in the U.S. and Canada. Terry retired in late 2008 after eight years as president and chief executive officer of the company's U.S. and Canadian energy businesses and its predecessor entity PPM Energy.
Prior to that, Terry was with multi-state utility PacifiCorp where he served as senior vice president of power supply, responsible for power generation, wholesale sales, and the company's mining businesses.
Before joining PacifiCorp, Terry spent 25 years with Texaco Inc., working in operations and management positions. He served as president of Texaco Natural Gas-North America where he was responsible for all aspects of Texaco's $5 billion North American natural gas and worldwide natural gas liquids business. He also served as Texaco's senior representative in the Natural Gas Supply Association, and in various other roles including vice president of business development for Texaco Trading and Transportation, Inc., a Texaco subsidiary.
Terry has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Houston.
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENTS
Matt Morrow, Executive Vice President, Natural Gas
Matt Morrow is president of ENSTOR and also executive vice president, business development, gas storage and hub services for Iberdrola Renewables in the US and Canada.
Matt has thirteen years of experience in the gas storage and hub services industry and was instrumental in the development of hub services within the gas industry at the Henry Hub. Previous positions include COO, TradeCapture.com; director of e-commerce, Texaco Natural Gas; and president, Sabine Hub Services, where he was responsible for all aspects of Texaco's storage and hub services business in North American natural gas.
A native Texan, Matt has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and an MBA from the University of Texas A&M.
Martin Mugica, Executive Vice President, Renewables
Martin Mugica is the senior executive and has strategic responsibility for leading the overall development of Iberdrola Renewables' renewable energy businesses in the US and Canada. This includes the company's major presence as a vertically-integrated wind development, operations and power sales business; as well as its biomass and solar development work.
Martin has more than 14 years of engineering and business development experience. He joined Iberdrola Spain in 2002 as Director of Business Development, and had overall responsibility for the growth of Iberdrola in Spain and internationally. He played a key role in opening new offices in Moscow, Russia and Doha, Qatar, as part of Iberdrola's alternative energy development efforts.
Prior to joining Iberdrola Spain, Martin was employed by Intesca Uhde Industrial, S.A. first as Commercial Service Engineer and then as Commercial Director.
He holds a Superior Technical Engineering degree from Universidad Pontifica de Comillas in Spain, and a Master of Business Economics and Management degree from University of Navarra, Spain.
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENTS
Carl Britsch, Senior Vice President, Human Resources
Carl Britsch is a senior vice president responsible for the Human Resources organization, as well as the Internal and External Communications functions.
Carl joined Iberdrola Renewables after serving as executive vice president of Human Resources at Loomis AB since 2004 where he was is in charge of training, benefits, staffing, compensation, and labor and employee relations. Prior to Loomis, he spent ten years with Ford Motor Co. in a variety of Human Resources roles including an international assignment in Europe and several positions working with Ford's joint ventures. He has executive-level experience running day-to-day HR operations in three international companies.
Carl holds a Masters in Government Administration from University of Pennsylvania; a Juris Doctorate from Brigham Young University, J. Reuben Clark Law School; and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Brigham Young University.
Joseph J. "J.J." DiNorscia, Senior Vice President, Structuring and Market Analysis
J.J. DiNorscia is responsible for overseeing the economic analysis of Iberdrola Renewables' prospective U.S. and Canadian development projects and origination transactions. These commercial activities include the construction of wind farms and gas storage fields as well as the structuring of gas and power marketing deals.
J.J. has more than 30 years in the energy industry and came to the company from RWE Trading Americas Inc. in Houston where he served as vice president of risk control. He has also been with ARCO, where he both implemented trading strategies and managed marketing portfolios across different energy commodities. He also has held executive mid-office positions at both Texaco Natural Gas Inc. and TPC Corporation.
J.J. holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware and a Masters of Business Administration in Finance from Winthrop University.
Donald "Don" Furman, Senior Vice President for Development, Transmission, and Policy
Don Furman is responsible for the US and Canadian renewables development and for transmission and public policy efforts. He oversees all development activities relating to the wind business as well as transmission rights, and leads relationship management with government, regulators, and organized markets.
Don was previously with PacifiCorp, most recently as Senior Vice President of Regulation and External Affairs. At various times, he also held the roles of Vice President of Domestic Mergers and Acquisitions, Vice President of Transmission, and President of the company's unregulated power marketing subsidiary.
Prior to joining PacifiCorp, Don was Senior Vice President/Operations of Citizens Lehman Power LP. He also practiced law with an emphasis on energy transactions and regulation. He holds a BA in economics from Northwestern University and a J.D. from Lewis and Clark Law School.
Rick Ito, Senior Vice President — Risk Management
Rick Ito is responsible for the Corporate Risk Management function for Iberdrola Renewables in the US and Canada and IBERDROLA RENOVABLES in Spain and other international locations. This function is responsible for the development and implementation of risk management policies and procedures governing Investments, Energy Management, Operational Risk, Treasury and other areas, for providing independent review and oversight of investment valuations and trading activities and for other enterprise risk management activities.
Rick has more than twenty years experience in energy trading and risk management, operations, engineering, management and consulting, including executive management responsibilities for risk management activities (commodity, credit, insurance) at Iberdrola Renovables, SA, ScottishPower plc, PacifiCorp and PPM Energy, Inc (regulated and non-regulated businesses), four years as a senior manager (principal consultant) with PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP with responsibility for operations and financial risk management consulting practice development in the western United States and seven years working for a large electricity and water utility functioning in management and supervisory positions in wholesale energy trading, risk management, power and transmission contracts negotiation, and environmental and regulatory analysis.
Rick holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Long Beach, a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California and an MBA from the University of California at Los Angeles.
David Santucci, Sr., Senior Vice President/Natural Gas Trading & Origination
David Santucci, Sr., is responsible for Iberdrola Renewables' natural gas trading business, including negotiating physical, financial, and structured natural gas transactions, natural gas storage and transportation, in both the U.S. and Canada.
David has worked in the natural gas trading business for more the 10 years with experience and knowledge in all aspects of building a gas trading business. Prior to joining Iberdrola Renewables, David was the Director of natural gas trading at Texaco Canada Petroleum, Inc. There he was responsible for building the natural gas trading office and managing the fixed price, physical, financial, and currency books.
David has a Chartered Financial Analyst designation and a bachelor of finance degree from the University of Alberta.
Peter van Alderwerelt, Senior Vice President/Power Delivery & Thermal Assets
Peter van Alderwerelt oversees the management of Iberdrola Renewables' power delivery and thermal assets business in the US and Canada, including all power trading and more than 650 megawatts of clean gas and biomass resources in Iberdrola Renewables' portfolio. Peter's organization is involved in structured power sales and purchases, biomass and gas-fired generation development, energy trading, and plant asset management and operations.
Peter joined the company from Pacific Generation Company, a PacifiCorp affiliate, where he was responsible for developing and financing the 500 megawatt Klamath Cogeneration Plant in the late-90s. He has more than 25 years in the energy industry developing regional and international power and renewable opportunities on behalf of ABB, Combustion Engineering and National Power, and advising electric utilities and private developers on business strategy and development initiatives at Navigant and CH2M Hill.
Peter has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California at Davis, and is a registered California professional engineer.
VICE PRESIDENTS
Kevin Devlin, Vice President/Commercial Operations
Kevin Devlin is responsible for Iberdrola Renewables' newly formed Commercial Operations team in the US and Canada including wind equipment and service procurement, as well as Iberdrola Renewables' operations and maintenance (O&M) business services for others. Kevin joined what was formerly PPM Energy in 2005 and was responsible for new business initiatives, including offering O&M services to third parties and expanding the company's wind business into Canada. Kevin previously headed up the commercial development team for Scottish Power in the UK with responsibility for originated power and gas transactions, coal trading and procurement, and environmental products.
Kevin has more than 18 years experience in the energy industry, including ten years with Exxon in various roles within the upstream natural gas business and downstream oil supply and transportation.
Kevin holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from the Queens University of Belfast.
Patrick Haye, Vice President & Controller — Natural Gas
Patrick Haye is responsible for Iberdrola Renewables' Natural Gas risk management, information technology, back office, contract administration, trading compliance and accounting functions in the US and Canada.
Patrick has worked in the energy industry for more than 22 years and has a wide breadth of experience and knowledge related to finance, accounting, commodity risk management, back office and information systems technology functions. He has been instrumental in implementing industry leading energy and ERP systems that have enabled the division to grow rapidly and in a controlled, scalable and cost effective manner. Prior to joining Iberdrola Renewables, Patrick held senior level positions at two leading commodity trading and energy asset management companies, where he was responsible for leading various finance and risk management organizations made up of 150+ professionals. He also spent 12 years with Chevron, holding various positions of increasing management responsibilities within both upstream and downstream business segments.
Patrick graduated from Oregon State University with a bachelor's degree in accounting and computer science. He is also a member of the Institute of Management Accountants and is a Certified Management Accountant.
Trevor Mihalik, Vice President and Controller
Trevor Mihalik has over 16 years of financial and accounting experience in the oil and gas industry and brings extensive knowledge of financial reporting, accounting, treasury, market risk, credit risk, settlements, contract administration and pipeline balancing activities.
Prior to joining the US and Canadian division of Iberdrola Renewables, he worked for Chevron where he was the Vice President/Finance in their Natural Gas group. As part of his time at Chevron, Trevor spent five years as the Vice President/Finance and CFO of Bridgeline Holdings, L.P., a joint venture between Chevron and Targa Resources. This enterprise was engaged in natural gas marketing, trading and storage activities. Preceding Bridgeline, he worked for Enron involved in financial development of power projects and gas LDC acquisitions. Trevor began his career with Price Waterhouse working in their energy group in Houston and London.
Trevor has an undergraduate degree in accounting with an emphasis in finance from Creighton University, an MBA from Rice University, and is a licensed CPA in the state of Texas.
Allan Query, Vice President/Engineering and Construction
Allan Query is responsible for the engineering, technical support, and project/construction management activities surrounding the development and construction of Iberdrola Renewables' US and Canadian generation projects.
Previously, Allan served as managing director of project engineering for PacifiCorp's Pacific Generation Company (PGC). He has been responsible at PGC and Iberdrola Renewables for project management and operation of several notable projects, including the 240 MW Crockett Cogeneration combined-cycle facility and the 500 MW Klamath Cogeneration Project. In recent years, Allan has been responsible for the construction of more than 1000 MW of Iberdrola Renewables' renewable wind generation throughout the U.S. Allan has more than 30 years of related power generation construction experience which includes 18 years with General Electric Company as a field engineer, startup engineer, service manager, project manager, and Manager of Western Region Projects. In addition to experience with wind renewable and combined cycle generation, Allan has experience with biomass renewable, small hydro, and waste-to-energy generation projects.
Allan received his BS in mechanical engineering from Seattle University and a Professional Engineer (Mechanical) certification in Washington state.
Rany Raviv, Vice President of Business Development and Mergers and Acquisitions
Rany Raviv oversees organic renewable business development and manages renewable mergers and acquisition activities in the US and Canada.
Rany joined IBERDROLA Renewable Energies USA as Vice President in 2007. Previously, he was a 10-year veteran of Ormat, a geothermal energy leader where he led growth activities in the US. He has more than 15 years experience in global energy, mergers and acquisition, project finance, and brings a valuable track record of closing complex and diverse deals. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science and Business Studies from the University of Buckingham (UK) and an M.B.A. from City University Business School (UK).
Barrett Stambler, Vice President/Renewable Origination
Barrett Stambler has more than 20 years experience in the renewable energy business with Iberdrola Renewables and its predecessor PPM Energy, PacifiCorp, U.S. Windpower, Calpine, and the U.S. Department of Energy. Barrett oversees Iberdrola Renewables' wind sales and marketing activities across the US and Canada and is also responsible for expanding the company's customer relationships there. Prior to this he served as managing director of renewable origination. He has been integral to the company's wind power business from its earliest days, including its first-ever power purchase agreement for Stateline Wind Energy Center in 2001.
Barrett holds a B.A. from Pomona College and an M.B.A. from Yale University.
U.S. AUDIT
Alex Tait, U.S. Internal Audit Director
Alex is responsible for all U.S. Internal Audit activities across Iberdrola Renewables. Through Spain, the Internal Audit function reports directly to the Chairman of Iberdrola Renewables and the Audit and Compliance Committee.
Alex initially joined ScottishPower in 1990. Before working at Iberdrola Renewables, and its predecessor PPM Energy, he was head of Strategic Policy & Analysis at PacifiCorp. Prior to being part of ScottishPower's acquisition team of PacifiCorp in 1998, Alex held a variety of senior roles at ScottishPower, U.K. in the areas of strategic planning, performance management and accounting.
Alex holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Aberdeen and a Masters of Business Administration from the Edinburgh Business School.
