Blue Creek Wind Power Project
Van Wert and Paulding counties, Ohio
Blue Creek contributes a significant economic impact to rural northwest Ohio. During construction, Blue Creek spent about $25 million locally, employed over 30 local companies, and peaked at over 500 workers. During operation, the project will pay approximately $2 million in annual lease payments to local landowners, and $2.7 million in annual PILOT payments to local taxing bodies, making Blue Creek the largest taxpayer in Van Wert County, surpassing the next 14 largest taxpayers combined.
